In the Email Verification Protocol, the issuer is the email provider. This page lets the demo app play that role for @assure.chat addresses: signing in records Chrome's Login Status and sets the first-party session cookie Chrome uses for the accounts and issuance requests. Identity here is asserted, not authenticated — this is a demo issuer, not a real email provider.

Chrome Login Status API—

Must be a registered @assure.chat address. No account yet? Create one on the login page (Create account tab). No password — the demo issuer asserts the identity you enter.

Issuer-side prerequisites

  • DNS: _email-verification.assure.chat TXT "iss=verify.assure.chat" must be published so Chrome can discover this issuer.
  • Sign-in here sets both the Set-Login header and the Login Status API bit (where the browser supports it).
  • The accounts endpoint answers only browser-mediated webidentity fetches carrying this session cookie.
